Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)  

Who?  The Neither Party is an attempt initiated by John Rice, Jr. (non-candidate-founder and current spokesperson) to offer the citizens of this country a choice greater than either side of the same old coin (Republocrats).   When compared with any other political party, the Neither Party is a difference with very definite distinctions that neither the Republicans nor the Democrats can compare to. 

What?  Presently, this is a sole proprietorship.  The ‘Plan’ is for the presently privately owned .com website to develop and finance-until-self-sustaining the companion .org, .net, .us and .info websites of the same name (which will serve to organize the party down to precinct level and to vet platform updates and candidates).   We are not beholding to any special interests of any kind, so part of the purpose of this website is to ‘profit’ so that the Neither Party can become a self sustaining and amazingly effective independent political party.

When? The idea began forming around the time of the millennium celebration, the 2000 Presidential race and the debacle of the election scandal, and the subsequent events throughout the Bush Administration’s reign.  The optimists among us believe if we work hard and get it right, we can effect change as early as the mid-term elections of 2006, and be strong enough to at least have ‘swaying control’ of the Presidential contest in 2008. 

Where?  The intent is for this party to have a positive effect throughout the US by changing the direction of our Nation and positively affect the rest of the world.  As an internet-based community, we can be anywhere, unrestrained by censorship.  Thanks to the very generous Gates’ philanthropy, any person in the United States can now access a computer at almost every public library in the nation, for free.  Right now!  It means that democratic change through the internet is as close to hand as right now!  It also means there is no excuse for being uninformed today.
 

Why?  I was brought up believing that I was very lucky to be a citizen of the greatest country on the planet.  Our greatness is still without question.  The question is: what are we doing with our greatness?  One of many questions of the ‘why’ variety is if we are such a benevolent nation, why are we in a, more or less, constant state of war?  Another is why we so often support tyrants and oppressors?  This party is being started because I have to try to do it for myself, my family, and for my progeny, and for the rest of the wonderful people on this planet who only want a safe, healthy and happy life for themselves and their kids. 

How?  By utilizing (almost exclusively) the internet for communication, organization, raising money, and to increase inclusiveness and transparency of this operation.  Working for change; believing in the possibility of a better world; and investing money, blood, sweat and tears in pushing it forward.  At the very latest, when the Neither Party reaches the ten million member mark (5% potential voters) we envision an online Neither Party convention and any remaining vestigial attachments of the founder will be removed from the Neither Party .org, .net, .us and .info websites, and the Neither Party then be entirely self-reliant and self-sustaining.

Why join the Neither Party website?  By joining, you are becoming a member of the Neither Party Virtual Board of Directors (VBOD). As a member of the VBOD, you will be taking part in America's virtual voice of the reality based community.  Our members will form the backbone of this information-age political paradigm and through time, energy and excitement, have the muscle to bring about peaceful change.
